I decided to rewatch this movie after an errant scene ripped through my head like so much headshot. It was the kitchen scene where Adam Chamber's character, Owen, gets bit in the arm.
I recalled the attacking zombie and how cool it looked. In my mind, its design was on par with the torso lady zombie from Return of the Living Dead. When the time came for this zombie zombie to make its appearance, I was disappointed. It was just a guy in a mask and not an intricate, animatronic creature that I had misremembered.
Oh well, the movie was decent and good cheesy fun. It had a decent rewatch-ability that I look for when going all in and laying down the money for a physical copy. The 2d version I got is also resplendent with special features, something I also geek out on when buying a flick.
It's a remake of a classic, so it's hard to mess up. It's also a movie with the simple premise of people locked in a farmhouse/ cabin with zombies/ creatures trying to break in and kill them. I'll sign up for that every time.
